City of Ottawa – R.O. Pickard Environmental Centre

R.O. Pickard Environmental Centre (“ROPEC”) Primary Clarifiers 1 – 4

Summa’s broad experience and capabilities in the manufacturing of high quality control panels for use in municipal water / wastewater process automations systems in addition to strong project management and timely commissioning lead to the successful completion of the project.

Background

Built in 1963, The Robert O. Pickard Environmental Centre is the sole waste water treatment facility in Ottawa, Ontario, and is one of Canada’s largest.

The scope of the project was the removal and replacement of all existing cross and longitudinal chain and flight sludge collector systems in fifteen (15) primary clarifiers.

In support of the above, associated electrical and instrumentation systems were updated and three (3) major PLC panels associated with the primary clarifiers were replaced.

Scope of Work – Control Panels

The goal was to deliver on schedule and on budget to meet and exceed the expectations of this major upgrade project – all work conducted under strict compliance to the City’s SCADA Standards.

Summa was responsible for manufacturing and commissioning of three (3) major PLC panels along with a large number of related local control panels.
